Monday News

Dear Families,

Happy New Year! The students will arrive Monday to the classroom library changed to informational books (non-fiction books). During January and February, the students will form Research Clubs in reading workshop and focus on the art of information writing during writing workshop.

We will read Calico Captive by Elizabeth George Speare for a read aloud. The story is historical fiction and will help students understand what challenges early settlers faced in Vermont.

On Tuesday, we will head to the Flynn for Cirque Mother Africa. Permission slips were collected in September and I have all the slips.

Nordic skiing during PE will start on January 12th. The dates are as follows: Tues: 1/17, 1/31 and Thurs: 1/12,1/26, 2/9.

Math Night at BPMS will be on Wednesday, January 18th from 6:00 pm-7:00 pm. Part of the evening will be explaining how math instruction has changed and half of the time will be devoted to playing math games that families can bring home. I hope to see you there!

Monday, January 16th is a Professional Development Day. No school for students.

The January book project directions will go home on Monday.

Enjoy your week,
Anna
