Classroom News

Dear Families,

I hope you had a good break. We will start the week reviewing expectations and setting goals. In writing workshop, we will be doing realistic fiction writing. In reading workshop, we will be focusing on reading a variety of genres, including realistic fiction, historical fiction, and fantasy fiction. We will also start new book clubs and deepen our comprehension through conversation and jotting.

On Thursday, Rhonda from CSWD will teach the students about recycling and composting. She will also help us develop an action plan for our school's compost piles and help us to start a battery recycling challenge.

On Friday, we will go to Sleepy Hollow for our last day of cross-country skiing. We will also start the TRY program on Friday. The program is called TRY (Teens Reaching Youth) and is an environmental leadership opportunity for students in middle school. For six Fridays, three 7th graders from Camels Hump Middle School will teach 6 different one‐hour lessons that are fun and hands‐on. Your child will bring home a paper with more information on Wednesday.
