Monday News

Dear Families,

We will go on a field trip to the Green Mountain Power Plant on Tuesday. Grace Freeman will be my guest teacher because I will be out Tuesday. On Thursday, the 4th graders will go to CHMS for the school play, Alice in Wonderland.

In social studies, students will embark upon a short-focused research project. They have a choice of: How was cooking on the trail different from back home?; How did the railroad change settlements in the west?; and Why was packing for a trip west critical to the pioneers’ survival?

The Science Fair Showcase will be on April 6th! Parents are invited to view the projects from 7:25 - 9 am. Feel free to help your child set-up at the beginning of the school day and stay to talk to the scientists and share information.  At 9:00, the students will break for snack. Students will spend the morning showcasing their experiments to the rest of the school.

There will be an After School Work Time on Wednesday, March 30th from 2:20-3:30.

This will be in Mrs. Carter’s Classroom. Please pick your child up at 3:30 or let Mrs. Carter know if your child should go to Live Y’ers at 3:30. If your child will be attending the After School Work Time, you must contact Sue to change your child’s after school schedule. We will be working on Conclusions and Next Steps.

Enjoy your week,

Monday News

Dear Families,

How are the science fair projects coming along? Our goal this year is to streamline the science projects. Students should let their curiosity lead their investigation. The students should have measurable results, which may be measured with observation, measuring, weighing, or pictures. The poster should be typed or handwritten, but the goal is to share information and have fun!

This week, the students will read their informational books to their prebuddies. They have been working hard and this is their opportunity to be the teacher.

In Science, we are creating parallel circuits. The students will be wiring a dollhouse using batteries, light bulbs, and wires soon!

Enjoy your week,
Anna

Hello Families,

There is not enough snow to ski tomorrow.

The children had two good sessions. We hope that next year we will have 6 out of 6!

Monday News

Dear Families,

It’s back to the school routine. Spring is just around the corner. Report cards will go home March 18th. Remember to sign-up for conferences.

Our class will host all school morning meeting on Friday. It’s a short week, so there won’t be any homework.

Third graders should be working on their multiplication facts with flashcards or Fasttmath. There will be time during the school day, but some students may not be able to get to all 6 lessons each week.

Information about the Science Fair will be sent home on Friday.

Enjoy your week,
Anna
