Monday News

Dear Families,

We finally have snow! Let’s hope for more snow for our Nordic skiing on Fridays.

Mark your calendars! The 3/4 school play will be January 28th in the evening.

Don’t forget the book projects are due January 4th.

Tuesday is going to be a very fun day. The students will do holiday/winter activities in the morning. Some activities will be making wrapping paper, snowflakes, ornaments and snowball shooters. The publishing party will be at 12:50, followed by the holiday sing along.

The students wrote letter to pen pals at Underhill Central School.

Don’t forget to do Fasttmath  and read over break.

Have a wonderful holiday and New Year’s!

Monday News

Hello Families,

This week, the third and fourth graders will continue to work on perimeter and area in math.

We will have prebuddies on Wednesday and get fitted for cross-country skis on Tuesday. Hopefully we will have snow soon.

We will be working hard on our personal essays this week. Mark your calendars for the publishing party and Holiday Sing Along starting at 12:45 on December 22nd. The 3/4 wing will have their holiday celebration in the morning. More information will be going home on Wednesday.

The students will go to the Sterling House to sing to the residents on Friday. Getting a bit spiffied up for the field trip would be nice for the residents. The students will also stop by Lavallee Drive to see erosion and weathering. We will lead all school morning meeting on Friday.

Enjoy your week,
Anna

Monday News

Dear Families,

We will be leading All School Morning Meeting on the 18th and then going to the Sterling House. On December 22nd, there will be a publishing party at 1 pm and a Holiday Sing Along at 1:30 pm. We scheduled the publishing party before the sing along to make it easier for parents to attend. More information will be coming home soon.  I will be out on Tuesday for a math meeting in Jericho and I will be out on Wednesday for another session of math at BPMS.  Wednesday is our late start day.

The students are very excited about a short-focused research project for social studies. They have a choice of: landforms; a biome; an animal or plant from a biome; or maps. They also have a choice in how to present their research: poster; game; Google slides; or Google document. This choice is very motivating (as you can imagine) for learners. Mrs. Irish and Ms. Motta will be working with them on the research method involving note taking, citations, editing, revising and presenting.

Please remember to turn in skiing and Sterling House permission slips.

Have a great week,

Anna
