Monday News

Hello Families,

Mark Your Calendars:
February 10th – 2-Hour Delayed Opening
February 13th – BPMS Winterfest from 11:30-3:00 pm
February 15th – BPMS T-Shirt Order Due
February 22nd – March 1st – School Recess

Monday, a team of Global Foundries employees (including some parents from our class) will bring snap circuits to the 3/4 students. They will have a chance to explore snap circuits. The students have been learning about circuits, conductors and insulators in science.

We will exchange valentines on Friday, February 12th. Students are not required to bring valentines for the class, but there will be time to exchange and celebrate friendship with some Valentine’s Day games.

I Love to Read & Write is the week of February 15th.  Monday will be the book give away for all students. Our visiting author/illustrator, John Steven Gurney will be at our school on Tuesday. Mr. Gurney illustrated the very popular chapter book mysteries, the A to Z Mystery series. More recently, he wrote and illustrated Dinosaur Train.  He will present to the whole school at 7:50 in the morning and then lead our class in a writing workshop at 9:30. The proceeds from our Scholastic Book Fair funds the author visit at Brewster-Pierce.
Many thanks to everyone for supporting our library by supporting our book fair!

Guest Readers are invited into our classroom during I Love to Read and Write week. If you have a favorite book you’d like to read to our class, contact me about a time to come in. The more guest readers the better. This can include, but is not limited to parents, grandparents, and aunts and uncles.

Stay tuned for information on the Science Fair!

Enjoy your week,
Anna
