Monday(Tuesday) News

Dear Families,

I hope you enjoyed the long weekend. The leaves were stunning! 

Please look for a permission slip coming home about a field trip to Lone Rock Point in Burlington on October 22^nd. This trip will tie into our World Geography and Geology units.

This week, Alannah will begin teaching Reading Workshop on Tuesdays. She teaches in the Y after school program at BPMS. I will have my team meetings with the 3/4 team at this time. This week we will continue our study of character traits. We will focus on the changes a character goes through in a story. Students learn that most fiction stories contain a lesson that the characters learn and grow from. All characters change, grow, and learn lessons as a result of events or conflicts in the story.

Homework:

It's a short week. Read every night for at least 20-30 minutes. Read your book project book.

Math - 1 page for both 3rd and 4th graders.

Run for the Sun

We played a game in science called Run for the Sun and water was energy that moved up the food chain. More energy is used up as you go up the food chain. In the game I was a soy bean. It is a producer. I get my energy from the sun. The cow eats the soybean and the human eats a hamburger. We had a lot of fun. Luckily, we didn’t get wet.
