A Special Video

During the summer of 2019, BPMS school staff learned that Susan and Ted Blood, adjacent landowners, would be selling their 245 acre property. The Huntington Conservation Commission and The Public Land Trust have worked to create a proposal using a variety of funding, including both grants and public funds, to acquire the land and create a Huntington Town Forest. In late December there was a public hearing at the Huntington Town Library to discuss the pros and cons of this project; there is a tremendous amount of support for securing the land and creating a Town Forest. Brewster-Pierce staff supports this project as it would open up a much wider range of opportunities for all students during Outdoor Learning Days. Since some of the funding will come from the town, the hope is to complete all necessary steps in the process and present this proposal to the voters on town meeting day in early March.

Please enjoy this video! You may notice some children you recognize! 😀
